Jeff awoke in a white room. He sat up, and realized his whole face was bandaged up. He lifted his arm to touch it, but felt a small sting in his arm. A needle penetrated his wrist, and he realized where he was.
"Hey, Jeff..."
Jeff's eyes widened. That voice... it was...
Liu.
"Hey man!" Liu said.
"Liu??"
Liu smiled. "Yep! I got released when they found out what actually happened. Oh, Mom and Dad are here."
A nurse walked in. "Well, I think we can take those bandages off." she then started to unwrap them, little by little. As she removed the last bit of bandage, everyone in the room gasped. Jeff cocked his head."What?"
His mother spoke up."It... it's not THAT bad..."
Jeff rushed to the mirror to look at his own face. What he saw took his breath away. His face was white. Pale white. His face sagged ever so slightly, but not enough to really be deemed as disturbing. His eyelashes had burned off, as well as bit of his head hair.
Liu joined his side. It's not... THAT bad." he said.
Jeff's left eye twitched when Liu said that. "Not that BAD?" he look Liu straight in the eyes, smiling. "It's PERFECT."
Jeff's father faced the nurse. "Is our son okay?"
The nurse nodded. "After what your son went through, he may be experiencing some form of crazed state. It should go away after a day or two, but if not, you should take him in to get him checked out.
Jeff's mother nodded. "Thank you."
Jeff awoke.
He was about to kill himself if he didn't stop having these gosh-damned dreams.
Jeff had received a note the night before on his bed: 'We need to talk about how you will proceed. Meet at the alley.' was all it said, other than a signature.
A circle with an X over it.
He really hated them. The 'Proxies'. Ticci Tobi, his wench, Clockwork... and whoever else is caught up in all of it. But what could he do? He had to know who was doing all his killing. He had to know who was running around pretending to be him.
He had to.
He opened the backdoor of the car he had slept in. Closing it, he peered into the front seat, smiling at his victim. Man... he thought, She was fuuuun. But I think I'll go for someone a little younger next time.
He was sick in the head, and he knew it. And was proud of it. He didn't care. He was Jeff the Killer. He was a bedtime story parents told their kids to make them behave. The only difference was that he was real. And this attractive woman in the front seat found that out all too well. Man... red was such a good color for the interior of the car. He grinned before moving on.
He was getting close to his destination. Only a few more days.
And then the unfortunate bastard would meet his fate... and Jeff's knife.

Dark Legends - Part **: Jeff's Story Continued
BLAM!!!
Jeff pushed the gun to his right as it went off, barely missing him. He could feel the heat of the bullet whizzing by. With his left hand, he grabbed the gun and threw it it behind him. Randy freaked, and yelled "guys! Don't just stand there!!"
Jeff looked up in time to see Kieth with a gun and Troy with a knife. "Aw shit..." he ran inside, Randy following close behind. The other two got caught behind the kids in the yard, who decided to start firing their water guns at them.
"Jeff!?" Jeff's mother yelled seeing him being chased, then let out a scream as he saw the knife Randy pulled out. Jeff jumped over the kitchen bar, landing in the kitchen. Randy turned the corner and entered the kitchen as well, rage lit on his face. Jeff grabbed a wine bottle sitting on the counter. Throwing it at randy he ran back out of the kitchen. Randy screamed as the wine bottle hit and exploded on his face.
Jeff froze right outside the kitchen, his back to Randy. He felt himself snap inside. "I'm gonna fucking kill you Jeffery!" He heard. He turned to face Randy who was now charging at him. Randy swiped, but Jeff simply dodged it, and landed a punch to Randy's gut.
"ACK!" Randy blurted. He bent over, holding himself. Jeff took this opportunity to grab Randy's head and pull it down onto his knee. Hard. "GAH!" Randy yelled, falling face first. He grabbed Jeff's legs, ripping him off his feet.
Jeff fell backwards, hitting his head on the carpeted living room floor. Randy jumped on top of him, wasting no time as he started laying blows to Jeff's face. Jeff did his best to block the blows, but it wasn't very effective. He felt himself getting weaker and weaker, until he finally saw his chance, and socked Randy in the face. Randy was stunned for a second, giving Jeff a chance to throw him off. Now it was his turn to jump on Randy. Sitting on his lap, he raised his fist, and with all the strength he could muster, he hit Randy straight in the chest.
Randy's eyes widened, and he began to choke. The impact of the hit had broken a bone and pushed it inward on to his heart. Randy grabbed Jeff's shirt tightly as he sputtered and coughed up blood. Jeff simply sat there, feeling Randy's grip loosen, and watch Randy's hands fall soon after.
Jeff stood up, his clothes now dampened with alcohol from the struggle. He looked towards all the parents and adults in the room, who were simply shocked and confused. That's when Troy and Kieth ran inside. Troy panicked and ran straight back outside. Kieth however wasn't happy with Jeff. He charged at Jeff, knife raised. He swung continually at Jeff, who kept avoiding the blade, dodging over and over. He was backed into the hallway, and eventually into the bathroom.
Jeff dove for Kieth's feet. Kieth fell forward, barely avoiding hitting his head on the bath tub. They both stood up, and Kieth realized his knife was gone. It had flown into the hallway. Jeff stood quickly, banging his head on a shelf. A bottle of bleach fell over and poured out on to Jeff. Jeff grunted and yelped in pain as the bleach made contact with his eyes and face. Rubbing the last bit of bleach out of his eyes, he faced Kieth again.
Kieth was laughing, ever so softly.
"What're you laughing at, asshole?" Jeff demanded.
"Heh... because... you're drenched in alcohol and bleach." He continued laughing as he pulled out a lighter.
Time went in slow motion, as Jeff watched Kieth turn the lighter on, and throw it to him. Jeff turned to run, but it was too late. The small, minuscule flame, touched his back, and he was immediately engulfed in flames.
Life sped back up, as Jeff panicked and threw himself on the hallway, trying to put the flames out, but it was useless. He ran into the hallway, yelling and screaming in pain, as he felt his skin ever so slowly melt. He fell on the living room floor, kicking and screaming.
The last thing he saw before passing out were the adults rushing to his side with blankets and wet towels, trying to put the flames out.

Dark Legends - Part 12: The Start of the Beginning (Part II)
The next day, Lana and Greg wasted no time. As soon as they finished breakfast, they went straight to the woods.
Gregory was fascinated with the forest. Beautiful Oak and Spruce trees filled the area, and the forest had just begun to shed their leaves. For now though, they provided a cooling shade with their canopy. The dirt beneath him was soft, with grass sprouting here and there, and he saw the occasional rabbit or squirrel scurrying around. Everything about the place seemed... peaceful. Normal. Honestly, it was slightly disappointing to him. The vibe he got didn't scream 'cryptic'. It screamed 'hey! let's get nuts and berries and sing happy songs together until we die!'
And that annoyed him.
Lana was more than excited to bring her uncle out to her secret spot. "Now, you know you can't tell my mom about this spot, right? It's like... sacred to me."
"Of course." Greg replied, "I understand how that goes."
She smiled. "Great. Well it's not much farther. Just a little ways past this small gorge." She said, as she walked across the log she had placed.
Gregory took one look at the log, and then at the gorge. "How sturdy is that... uh... log...?"
Lana scoffed. "Pfft, it's fine. Just come on."
Gregory slowly and cautiously stepped onto it. It gave a small little creak, but it seemed to hold. He wasn't a big guy, but the muscle he packed did give him some wight. He creeped across, making it to the other side. "That wasn't too bad..."
"Come on, slowpoke!" Lana said impatiently. They continued on for a few more minutes before arriving at her secret spot.
Greg smiled. This was the perfect place for Lana. The perfect escape from the world. And hey, it was good for her to be doing something with her time.
Lana brought him inside, and plopped on the floor, leaning against the wall. "Welcome to my humble abode! I don't have anywhere but the floor to sit down, but that'll change... eventually."
Greg nodded, looking around. A bit run down, but he could tell she had been working on it. He walked out the back door, leaving it open. "Nice little place, it really is."
Lana stood up, brushing off her rear after having sat on the dusty floor. "That's where I saw it.. him... Slenderman. Whatever you wanna call him. I was just chillin', reading, and then I heard a noise, so I went outside." She thought for a moment. "Come to think of it, I just assumed I heard something... I couldn't explain why I went outside. It was more like I... felt something, ya know?" She joined her uncle on the back porch, leaning against the railing bordering it's edge. She pointed towards a grouping of trees, straight out. "Saw it there. It was like... a tree or something. Or like... He was all the trees for a moment, and then became a single tree... kinda... and then shrunk some, to about 8 feet tall. And then he whispered shit." She stopped for a moment, watching her uncle stare into the forest, focused. "U-uncle G?"
Greg snapped out of it. "S-sorry... just... thinkin'." He couldn't get past events out of his head. The horrible things that had happened. He stepped off the porch, walking forward. "So he was over here-ish?" He said, trying to push past his own thoughts.
Lana followed him. "Yeah... about." The two of them walked towards the spot she saw. She felt a chill travel down her spine.
Greg inspected the area, but he couldn't find anything useful. No footprints, no sign of Slender, simply nothing that could help him. He felt Lana slightly poke him in the side. "What is it?" he asked.
She was silent for a moment. "I-it's okay if you don't believe me, or think I'm seeing things. It was... pretty weird."
He pulled her in for a side hug, holding tightly. "I believe you, Lana. I do. I just... he didn't leave anything behind. Which doesn't help me." He wanted so bad to tell her what he did on a regular basis. But it wasn't time for that yet. He needed to make sure she was going to keep it to herself, and if she was going to be helpful to him. Perhaps people would criticize him for it, but he saw Lana as an adult. He was more than convinced that she had the ability to handle whatever would happen, to a point. He had already made the choice a long time ago that he would eventually share with her what he did at his job; some of the secrets he kept, the stories he'd never forget. He'd always felt like he could trust her, but even so, it just wasn't time. "But I'm sure our little camping trip tonight will bring about something..."
She gave a big grin. "I can't wait."

Dark Legends - Part 11: The Start of the Beginning (Part I)
Gregory was met at the airport by his sister, Susan.
"Greg! So good to see you!" She said, giving her brother a warm hug.
"Good to see you too, lil' sister." Greg said, hugging her back.
"Lana's gonna be so happy to see her super cool uncle."
Greg smiled. "I'm looking forward to spending time with her." For his own reasons, he and Lana both purposely neglected to mention anything about Lana's 'encounter'. Greg dealt with these things behind the scenes, and if Susan freaked out at all, it could jeopardize the situation. No, it was better to keep this to himself until the threat of danger were to come upon his niece. "I think she mentioned something about camping in the woods while I was here."
"Yes, she told me about that. That sounds like fun." The two of them reached her car, and and after loading his luggage into the trunk, they started their way to her house. "Will you need a tent?"
"No, I brought a hammock. Much more comfortable."
It wasn't long before they arrived, and Lana came running out of the house, almost tackling Greg. "Hey Uncle G! I frickin missed ya!"
Greg laughed, giving her a bear hug. "Haha, it's good to see you, too!"
The girls took Greg's luggage to the guest room, and the three of them visited the whole day. After pizza, icecream, and snacks, they all sat in the livingroom to watch a movie. Halfway through it, Susan stood up and stretched.
"Welp. I have work in the morning, so I need to sleep. You two enjoy the movie."
"Will do, Mom." Lana said. She had been nestled up to her mother, and now scooted over to lean on her uncle.
"Don't stay up too late, little lady."
"I wooooon't, geeeez." Lana said, giggling and sticking her tongue out at her mother.
Susan went made her way to bed, and the other two finished the movie. Lana was almost asleep, when she felt her Uncle shift a bit, and then speak.
"So," he said, "we camping in the woods tomorrow night?"
Lana sat up on her knees and bounced slightly. "Hell yeah. I wanna know what's going on."
"We'll check the place out tomorrow during the day. You don't have anything you gotta do, right?"
"Nope. Tomorrow is Saturday, and it's wiiiide open."
"Sweet." Greg stood up. "I'm gonna head to bed. I'll see ya in the morning. Love ya, Hermit."
Lana giggled a little at her Uncle's nickname for her. He had always called her that since she never really hung out with friends, and usually kept to herself. "Love ya too, Rascal."

The forest was quiet. The wind didn't blow, the trees didn't rustle, and not a single creature could be heard. The moon shined down, providing the only light. The eerie silence would've been enough to worry any soul who walked the forest floor; but no one was here. No one to be frightened of the dark shadows, the lack of sounds... of course, it would've been enough to drive a man crazy...
But he was no man.
He was amongst the trees. He didn't stand between them, or float, or hover. He simply existed. He was there. His presence could be felt. It seemed the very forest knew he was there, and was silent from fear. And he liked that.
He liked that quite a bit.
He seemed to freeze for a moment, and somehow, the forest became even quieter. He creaked his head some, and smiled in his head. He's here. And he wants to find me. He had been waiting too long for this moment, and it was coming so soon. The Inspector's death... heh... such a delicious thought. He wanted to make sure that this lowly, pitiful man, knew who he was.
He was the shadows of the trees.
The darkness in your dreams.
The thing from which every human has ran.
He was what his enemies called him: The Slenderman.

Dark Legends - Part 10: Victim
Jeff tried to manage at school, but it was hard to keep Lou off his mind. It felt wrong to push him out of his head, but what else was there to do? Liu was in Juvenile Detention for something Jeff did, and no one believed him.
The feeling of blood spill hadn't returned yet. He hoped it would stay that way.
Only two weeks after Liu's arrest, his mother came to his room to inform him they were all going to a birthday party. It was a ten-year-old's birthday, and that didn't excite Jeff. "Mom, I don't wanna go to some kid's party. I don't know them."
"That's why we're going." his mother said. "We'll get to meet new people. Maybe you'll make a new friend."
"Pfft. Right."
His mother gave him a disappointing look. "We're going. There's no getting out of it."
One week later, they all walk across the street to attend the party. He didn't wear anything fancy, only a pair of jeans, black tee, and white hoodie.
Jeff was sent outside, and was greeted by the birthday boy. He was given a small water gun and a cowboy hat. Jeff looked around him and sighed. Everyone getting shot up with water was amusing, if he was honest with himself. He soon joined in on the fun, and was actually enjoying himself.
That was when the back gate opened. Jeff froze when he saw Randy, followed by Kieth and Troy.
"Jeff!" Randy almost screamed. "We got a score to settle!"
Jeff took a step back as Randy walked right up to him. "Idiot, my brother's already in Juvie, isn't that enough for you?"
Randy chuckled "Oh no, Jeff. No no no no nooooo. No YOU'RE the one who did THIS to me, not him!" He lifted his left hand revealing a cast. "So you're gonna pay for that," he said, revealing a gun. "You're gonna pay sooooo badly."
Jeff awoke.
This really needed to stop. This wasn't a past he cared about. He only cared about who he was going to gut next, when the call came.
Unfortunately, now he had a set target. At the very least, it would more than likely be a challenge. Smiling to himself at the thought of that, he looked out the window of his hotel room.
Knock knock!
Jeff stood silent. After a moment, the door opened. A man's voice said, "Hey, we've been getting complaints about a really bad smell coming from your roo..." his voice trailed off as he noticed the pile of dead bodies.
Jeff looked over his shoulder behind him, slowly. A smile slowly creeped across his whole face. "Something wrong... sir?" Jeff said softly.
The man screamed, and ran off, leaving the door open.
Jeff chuckled some, and looked out the window again. It was time to move on again. I'm coming for you... I'll find you...
...and then I'll gut you.
The feeling of blood spill hadn't returned yet. He hoped it would stay that way.

The Journal of Viktor Daark: Intro.
Have you ever woken
up just enough to know you’re awake? You might be aware that you
heard someone say something, or that you were going to say or do
something… but for all your struggling to remember what came
before, all you can think on is the call back into slumber.
My name, as far as I
know, is Viktor. Viktor Daark. I woke up three weeks ago. Beyond what
I’ve been told by my butler, I have no idea where I am. With that
said I will be keeping this journal as a precaution against further
memory loss.
Although I have no
concrete proof, I can’t shake this eerie feeling that something
sinister is happening here.

Dark Legends - Part 9: Head Problems
Jane yawned, as she rested, sprawled out on a rooftop. She loved being up so high, able to look down on everyone. She wasn't on edge tonight, but she was already anticipating her next victim. She needed to be in anticipation. Her head was driving her crazy. There was too much going on. That girl... Clockwork... she really needed to die. No one bugged her as much as this stupid clock girl did.
She could wait though. She had to take care of Jeff. That bastard. The one she used to idol. Her hero turned nemesis. He probably didn't remember her, but she sure as hell remembered him. How could she forget him? He created her, after all. All she wanted was to be like him. She didn't ask for the pain... the fire... the torment... but that's what he gave her.
She shook her head quickly. She couldn't let that get to her. She just needed to find him, and end him. That's all she had to do. Then she could live in peace. Or who knows, maybe she would feel accomplished and simply end herself. That could be fun.
She wasn't sure what kind of person she was in the mood for tonight. Generally it was the twelve year old's she liked. That perfect age where they just had only begun to start defining the difference between fiction and reality. It was fun watching the fear and confusion on their faces.
She leaned forward on her hands and knees to peer over the roof, watching the street for activity. Maybe she'd be the vigilante tonight, and kill some rapist. Unfortunately, the streets were pretty empty tonight. She really hated Arcadia. This dumb city was so empty. Everyone and everything was boring.
Except for those woods on the other side of town.
She hated the woods. Never understood why, she just did. Anytime she got close to the fence on it's border, chills ran down her spine. Maybe it was a stupid fear, but hey, nobody was in the woods for her to kill, so it didn't bug her too much.
Laying back down, she rested her arms behind her head. Perhaps she would just sleep here. She shut her eyes, and smiled as the darkness of sleep took over.
